“I am still trying to decide what was the high point of the trip for me and have decided that I can only reduce it to 3 high points per day” – a traveler to the Loire Valley, France
“Hi. You are probably still in Egypt! What a great trip!! I cant even believe that I was there and experienced the most wonderful time of my life, well except for the birth of our children….” -Patricia
Traveling with you has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. You have provided for me some exceptionally rare opportunities that most people never have in the course of a lifetime, let alone by age twenty five. Merry Christmas and thanks again.”
Well, it’s back to reality and it was true and not a dream. I am doing more and more reading and can finally place names to the many places we visited. It is now more meaningful. As I tell more and more people about my trip, I realize that everyone has an interest in that country. Today, I went to a Jewelry store to find Christmas presents and what did I see, small statutes of The Pharaoh Tutankhamun, the Egyptian black dog, small statute of Nefertiti and several other Egyptian items. When I asked the owner about them, he said he bought them from an estate sale. Evidently someone had purchased them from the Egyptian showing in Toronto several years ago. He said they were purchased as souvenirs.
Speaking of the highlight of the trip for me — it is hard to say. EVERYTHING it seems, but I really enjoyed the camel ride. I rode the camel first at the Egyptian family farm and then again at the pyramids. The first time, I was terribly afraid, but at the pyramids, it wasn’t so bad. (smile) Cruising up the Nile and passing the Temples at Luxor, I felt as if I was living back then, walking 3,000 years ago through the cities, and the temples. The Ram-headed sphinxes were amazing–hundreds of them all lined up. I could go on and on. I could visit Egypt again. We didn’t have enough time to see all there was to see in the Cairo Museum. That was overwhelming.
Anyway, Mary, thanks for planning a trip of a lifetime. I hope that you had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday, and hope that the coming Christmas holiday will be the best for you. Take care.
