Gourmet Sicily

A culinary tour of Sicily, Italy from Edventures Gourmet

September 12-21, 2023

“Sicilians build things like they will live forever and eat like they will die tomorrow.” - Plato

Everything you've ever heard about Sicilian food is true.

Sicily is the perfect destination for lovers of good food, fine wine, rich culture and history.  Above all, it’s a land for those who want to explore.

Sicily has extended a welcoming hand to visitors throughout the ages. It is a cultural crossroads where Greeks and Romans, Phoenicians and Arabs, French and Spanish civilizations have all left their mark—artistically, architecturally and gastronomically—throughout centuries.

Straddling the East and West, Christian and Muslim, land and sea, this Mediterranean island is a place of unique convergence. Nowhere is cultural merging more evident than in Sicily’s regional culinary traditions and food culture.

On this Edventure, we’ll experience an authentic gourmet tradition.  We’ll immerse in the island’s rich culture, savor fresh seafood, handmade pasta and arancini (rice meatballs stuffed with deliciousness) and plan to wash it all down with some delightful Sicilian wine.

In addition, Sicily is home to some of the best Greek architecture in the world, making it an archaeologist’s dream. Its natural beauty of sea, mountains, and beaches provides the perfect backdrop for our visits to Greek and Roman theaters and temples, local markets, medieval villages, olive orchards and wineries.
